On December 14, in Newtown,
Connecticut, the unthinkable happened.

What began as an ordinary school day
ended with 26 dead, a town changed
forever, and a nation struggling to understand an immense tragedy.

As editors of brands that reach millions of women each month, we asked how our nation could improve to keep our children safe.Thousands of people submitted ideas, ranging from better mental health care to gun control to reexamined societal values, and beyond. Six women, whose ideas received a ton of community support, were invited to attend an exciting panel discussion on June 13. Learn more about the event.

The prevention of losing innocent lives is much more important that continuing to protect the financial gains of others. No one is losing their "freedom" to bear arms. We just need to make sure they qualify to be allowed to have them.

or how to improvise.They are medicated, stimulated, and isolated because they need to be the best always. Think back to what a Saturday morning was as a child. Cartoons and cereal followed by playing with the neighbors in the street until we got called home. Let your child fail and see that he is still loved and that the world didn't end.

Each school create a "code blue" safety plan. A code blue switch is installed in most or every classroom, when pushed... Expandit alerts
security/police. Staff and instructors execute class "lockdown" and students proceed to nearest blue safe zone. This plan should be simple and easy to perform in emergency situations as deemed. Also it could be a nationwide safety measure as significant and practiced as fire drills.

like we do Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer, etc. It is a medical condition that we simply must find a cure for. Meds or six days in an Inpatient Mental Health Facility will not cure the problem. People that are 'okay' don't go anywhere to shoot others. Even people with a gun permit could have a bad mental health day and go on a rampage. It isn't about guns--it is about people
